To OPEN the city gates to street arts means to bring out the value of open air spaces assigned to social life, to enforce the cohesion inside communities, to improve the local tourist activity, to create new routes for exchange and integration between European countries.
The creation of a international debate, the comparisons between
normative and laws, different urban patterns and policies for development
and support of street arts, will drive to a new consciousness and
will produce new stimulus in administrators and art operators. This
route could not be undertaken on a simple regional or local level.
Our country, now, is Europe!

With the expression "poor theatre" Grotowski meant a theatre in which the fundamental concern was the actor's relationship with the public, not the staging, neither costumes, nor lighting or special effects. Important to Grotowski was what he could be with the actor’s body and voice with no supports and solely through the visceral experience with the audience. Grotowski joint this concept of “poor theatre” to the concept of "priesthood “or actor's sacredness. It was in this space, in the sacred relationship between the actor and the audience that the spectator was challenged to be transformed by theatre.

Erasmus + is not just Youth and Education ...
Discovering the possibilities of the Erasmus + Program for European cultural operators
WHAT IS ERASMUS+?
ERASMUS+ is the most important funding program of the European Union for the support to initiatives
dedicated to education, training, youth and sport, and offers many possibilities also for the performing arts sectors.
Furthermore,
ERASMUS+ is perhaps the only program that recognizes
100% of the expenses incurred
for the implementation of the project. Its budget of
€14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million
Europeans to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad. Set to last until 2020,
Erasmus+ doesn't just
have opportunities for students, it also gives opportunities for a wide range of organisations, such as universities,
education and training providers, think-tanks, research organisations and private businesses.
Regarding the EU support to cooperation projects, it is well known that the attention of cultural operators of in the
ambit of music, performing arts, circus, popular and street theatre has always been mainly focused on the Creative
Europe calls for large or small scale projects. Too often the Erasmus+ funding programme has been wrongly
considered as a Programme expressely dedicated to the ambit of Education and youth, thus involving only the
school ambit. Indeed, the many opportunities offered by Erasmus+ funding programme must seriously be taken in
consideration by art operators:
theatre and circus schools, artistic residences, professional companies, trainers,
cultural operators and event organizers can all apply to Erasmus+ calls specifically addressed to activities
focused, for example, on youth and adult training, mobility of volounteers, trainers updating, transnational learning
and cooperation, development of strategic partnerships, of knowledge and sector skills alliances...thus perfectly
matching what is usual practice and everyday activity for most part of EU art professionals!
THE ADDED VALUE OF TRANSNATIONAL COOPERATION
To be involved in ERASMUS+ cooperation projects means to have the opportunity to be engaged in a number of
development and networking activities, including strategic improvement of the professional skills of own working
staff, to assume organisational capacity building. To create transnational cooperative partnerships with
organisations from other countries means to produce innovative outputs and to exchange best practices. The
benefits also include an increased capacity to operate at an international level, improved management methods,
access to further funding opportunities and projects, increased ability to prepare, manage, and follow-up projects, as
well as a more attractive portfolio of opportunities for learners and staff at participating organisations.
SOME EXAMPLES OF INVOLVEMENT OF CIRCUS AND STREET THEATRE

ACTION KEYS AND DEADLINES
The Programme is made up of three so-called "Key Actions" and two additional actions. They are managed partly at
the national level by National Agencies and partly at the European level by the EACEA. The European Commission is
responsible for Erasmus+ policies and oversees the overall programme implementation.
Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals
This Action supports mobility in the education, training and youth sectors and aims to bring long lasting benefits to
the participants and the organisations involved.
Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices
The actions under KA2 make it possible for organisations from different participating countries to work together, to
develop, share and transfer best practices and innovative approaches in the fields of education, training and
youth.
Key Action 3: Support for policy reform
Key Action 3 provides grants for a wide variety of actions aimed at stimulating innovative policy development, policy
dialogue and implementation, and the exchange of knowledge in the fields of education, training and youth. The
majority of them are managed by the EACEA.
Jean Monnet
Jean Monnet Activities are designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union
studies worldwide. The activities also foster the dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers, in
particular with the aim of enhancing governance of EU policies.
Sport
The Sport Chapter in the Erasmus+ Programme aims to support European partnerships on grassroots sport in order
to pursue the following objectives: tackle cross-border threats to the integrity of sport, such as doping, match fixing
and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination; to promote and support good governance in
sport and dual careers of athletes; to promote voluntary activities in sport.
The deadlines for various item of every Key Action are announced periodically for every year, generally starting from
about March/April until October. For 2018, the last deadlines
- 4th October- are referred to following Actions:
Key Action 1 - Mobility of individuals in the field of youth
Key Action 2 - Strategic partnerships in the field of youth
Key Action 3 - Support for policy reform
For 2019, the announcements for calls are expected at the end of 2018/early 2019.

POETIC INVASION FESTIVAL STARTS
70 companies from 15 countries are in competition in 3 sections of Poetic Invasion Festival (Bremen, Sibiu and Montegranaro). Cooperating countries are the main protagonists of program.
The POETIC INVASION FESTIVAL starts today,
8th June 2018, in the absolutely prestigious frame of the
SIBIU INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL. The PIC program will be intertwined with that of the biggest cultural event in Eastern Europe until 17th June, experimenting with innovative forms of entertainment in the suburbs and shopping centres of the Transylvanian capital.
Almost at the same time, starting from
9th and 10th June, in Bremen, the artists and companies programmed in the framework of the European project will animate the historic district of the old spinning mills, a suburb of the Teutonic city that covers an important heritage of industrial archaeology, but which usually remains outside of cultural programming. In Bremen the real Kermesse will start on the following weekend, where for 3 days the streets and squares of the city of the famous 4 Musicians will be filled with artists and companies from all over the world for the new edition of
LA STRADA International Festival.
Finally,
from the 22nd to the 30th of June, the third section of the PIC Festival will see the light in Italy, in the small town of Montegranaro, inside the
VEREGRASTREET Festival, an event that celebrates its 20th anniversary. The program of the PIC Festival in Italy includes artistic itineraries between hills and small villages, always looking for a new dimension of encounter between the performing arts and the audience.
In each of these three locations, the POETIC INVASIONS will try to surprise the audience, presenting the most traditional languages of artistic expression with new formulas, aiming to discover the new public in unconventional places. An autonomous artistic program that is hosted within a Festival of great importance and has always been aimed at innovation.
In addition to a very varied program of performance in line with the characteristics of the project, about 70 of the companies that will perform in Sibiu, Bremen and Montegranaro, have signed up to the new platform
www.poeticinvasion.eu, implemented by Open Street aisbl, and will be voted from the public. In each of the 3 locations of PIC FESTIVAL, the artistic proposal that will receive the best rating, will have the opportunity to participate in the other festivals of the network.
POETIC INVASION (Of the Cities) is a project of the Municipality of Montegranaro implemented with the support of Open Street aisbl, in partnership with Teatrul National Radu Stanca (Sibiu, RO), Neue Gruppe Kulturarbeit eV, (Bremen, DE) and co-funded by European Union under the CREATIVE EUROPE program. During the 3 years of the project there will be many opportunities to participate in the activities, especially for the companies of the cooperating countries.

OPEN STREET AT EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
BRUSSELS (23rd May 2018)
City of Certaldo (IT), Open Street aisbl, 7 MEPs, 27 Institution of 5 Countries have been involved in a meeting at European Parliament in Bruxelles for Mysteries & Drolls project presentation
23 May 2018 is an important date for the cultural cooperation project Mysteries and Drolls: in Brussels, at the European Parliament, thanks to the interest of the European Parliamentarian
Nicola Danti, together with the Project Leader Municipality of Certaldo and the coordination of Open Stret aisbl, the European cultural cooperation project is presented to the invited European
Parlamentarians together with representatives of governmental and cultural institutions from the countries involved. The presentation of the project will be an unrepeatable occasion to
emphasize to Parlamentarians invited how culture can play a dominant role in practically all
European policies, thus encouraging all Member States and the European Parliament to guarantee
a substantial and sustainable increase in the budget assigned to the culture. It is hoped that the
presentation of the project could represent a significant event for the future of the European theatre, thanks to which the cultural cooperation promoted by Open Street will be recognized by the governments and institutions of the continent.
The important result achieved will be able to introduce Mysteries and Drolls as an excellent example of cultural co-operation. The project, designed by Open Street aisbl, foresees a framework of research, training and experimentation, in an European and intercultural dimension, on the forms and languages of medieval theatre and jester arts, emphasizing the centrality of the forms of the sacred and the buffoon, which are the very roots of every theatrical form of today and represents a common and shared heritage for the whole continent.
